MEET THE ARTISTS

Elena
Elena Magdaleno has 19 years of experience working as a graphic designer.
Her artistic career began at the young age of 17. She started working as a teacher assistant in the Migrant Program of the Van Buren Intermediate School District in Michigan. She also worked in after school programs, teaching art in Kalamazoo, MI and now in Chicago, IL.
Her education began at Western Michigan University in Fall of 1997 and continued at the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) in 2005. Finally, in August of 2023, after a few life obstacles, she received her Bachelor's Degree of University Studies from Western Michigan University, with an emphasis in Art.
In 2007, and during her course of studies, Elena started her professional career. With the assistance of late Johnny Velez, she launched what has become a successful graphic designing and printing business, better known as Kaila Designs. She has learned that the best way to become proficient, is by applying oneself. Her dedication to her craft and commitment to her clients has driven her to see only in direction... forward.
As founder of Kaila Designs, she is committed to the success of her students, interns and clients and plans to implement her creativity to bring change and positivity to her community.

Elena is the proud mother of Mikaila, Johnny, Joel and Krystal and has recently opened her home to foster children.
"It’s important to understand that love and support must be rooted at home.
Only then, will we be able to grow, extend and prosper freely.”
